Dr. Tom Falasca

Dr. Thomas Falasca is an American physician, medical school professor, and medical writer. In addition to medicine, he has degrees in psychology as well as in logic and the philosophy of science. He is board certified in anesthesiology and interventional pain medicine, and has spoken at numerous national and international medical meetings.

In addition to editing “Evidence-Based Practice Guidelines for Interventional Techniques in the Management of Chronic Spinal Pain,” and authoring numerous medical articles, Dr. Falasca has served on the editorial review board for the journal Pain Physician and is the content author of the public health and medical information web site ErieCountyMedicalSociety.org.

He has served as Secretary of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, as President of the Erie County Medical Society, and on numerous committees of the Pennsylvania Medical Society. He has been recipient of the Distinguished Service Award of the Erie County Medical Society.

Dr. Falasca writes, produces, and is spokesperson for a television series of public service health and medical announcements on ABC affiliate WJET-TV. He produced and hosted the television program Focus on Erie Medicine from 1994 until 2011. Finally, he has been a guest on NPR’s The Connection and has been interviewed by Time Magazine’s Daniel Eisenberg.

Dr. Falasca lives in Erie, Pennsylvania and Bergamo, Italy.
